The Dix:
A KDU Event
March 21, 2005
The Rise and Fall of the Dix
Premiere Screening.
Tuesday (doors open at 7) at the Maritime Hotel's Cabana Room, NYC.
"...a documentary about the most famous band you may have never heard of, The DIX!! They were a famous Doo Wop/Soul band from the 50s and 60s. Ask your mother, she'll know. Anyway, Prince Paul found one of their old 12 inches, and he decided he had to ResErect the Dix! and re-release their aural pleasantries with some new remixes. The documentary sort of tells their whole story, from when they were small, to when the got huge, to when they sort of internally combusted and then shrank out of the public's eye. It's funny, sad, uplifting, and thought provoking stuff. You'll love it."
